What is a valuation? A valuation (also knowns as an appraisal) is an expert evaluation to determine the potential monetary worth of your item, whether it be an heirloom, collectible, or other treasure, considering its condition, rarity, and market demand.
At Thomaston Place Auction Galleries, we provide expert, confidential appraisals, giving you the knowledge to make informed decisions. We offer no obligation, verbal estimates of your items' Fair Market Value every Tuesday at our Thomaston, Maine gallery. Additionally, we provide detailed appraisals for insurance, equitable distribution to heirs, pre-sale or donation evaluations and auction consignments.
Free Appraisal
Considering selling or just curious about the value of your collectibles? Get a free verbal estimate of the fair market value during Free Appraisal Day. Held most Tuesdays from 10 - 4 with a break for lunch. Bring your items to our Gallery in Thomaston, Maine and discover their true worth. Appraisals are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

House Calls
Yes! We make house calls! An experienced appraiser will come to your location and do a free verbal walk-through evaluation of your items. We have seen it all: from luxury Manhattan condos to the barns and attics of rural New England. We’ll make sure you understand what you have. Contact us to find out if your items are better suited to be appraised on location.

Written Appraisal
Do you need a formal, written appraisal for an insurance company, or probate court? We can provide this service as well. As a paid service, the appraiser, accompanied by a recording assistant, will come to your location and document a single item or a line-by-line, room-by-room appraisal of your items. While we are not real estate appraisers, we can appraise everything else from automobiles to jewelry. Contact us to get an estimate of cost.
