1421 - 16TH C. THAI BRONZE BUDDHA ALTAR FIGURE

Lanna Style Buddha Shakyamuni statue seated in virasana on a shaped throne, making the bhumisparsa or "earth witness" mudra, wearing samghati, his face with meditative expression, incised eyes, elongated earlobes and curled hairdress with ushnisha. Loose on fitted teak stand, 15 3/4" x 10 3/4" x 6"

Chinese Vase, having a deep red surface streaked with iridescent blue, lavender and milky white glaze, with flattened circular body and cylindrical neck with flared rim, neck flanked by openwork scroll form side handles, base incised with Qing Qianlong reign seal mark, also with affixed "Millicent A. Rogers Collection" label.
